Classroom leadership, one child at a time

Yalla Tutoring was founded by Robert Jordan Harris, known as Jordan, a former Head of Maths and Head of Year with more than ten years of experience teaching maths, across three schools in the UK and one in Dubai.

That experience means knowing how maths is taught and assessed in school, spotting exactly where a child's understanding breaks down, and knowing how to rebuild it so it lasts. Leading a year group also means understanding the whole child: confidence and wellbeing matter as much as marks.

Testimonials

Parents' reviews

Online tutoring

"Mr Jordan has been the perfect Maths tutor for my boys. He's engaged them thoroughly in learning new concepts and cementing the foundations. He has continued the momentum whilst we have been in 3 different countries, and Zoom lessons haven't been a hindrance at all. The boys are always eager to do their classes with Mr Jordan and he has really made maths fun for them."

Parent of two boys

In-person tutoring

"We started our tutoring journey with Jordan after seeing his posts on social media. Our son had math anxiety and trying to support him at home often resulted in tears. We wanted a tutor who could specifically help with developing his math knowledge and confidence and Jordan has been exactly that. I realised we had definitely made the right decision when I saw my son skip happily into his tutoring session and we can now talk about math concepts without him shutting down. Within the first 5 weeks we could see that our son's confidence had grown massively. Jordan has a really great approach with students and I would highly recommend him to anyone needing Math support for their child."

"Jordan is a fantastic Maths educator as he combines technical know-how with fun games and methods to help teach and retain knowledge. He invests to know the student and tailors the learning style to that student's unique personality and cognitive preference. He encourages and challenges the student in equal measures. My son looks forward to his sessions with Jordan eagerly."

Parent of a son

In-person tutoring

"Just wanted to recommend Jordan from Yalla Tutoring for anyone looking for maths support/tutoring for their children. He's currently leaving his full-time teaching position and is qualified to teach all ages. He's just done a session with my 6 year old son and 4 year old daughter and honestly they LOVED him to bits! They came back absolutely buzzing, completely engaged and excited about maths which says everything really. He's a complete natural with children, super engaging and made learning feel really fun. Not affiliated in any way, met him completely by chance at the gym (lucky us!) but genuinely wanted to recommend him as we were so impressed!"
